Rhea is not just an extraordinary Nurse- she is a beacon of hope in the darkest moments, and I am forever grateful to her.
A month ago, we arrived at Sunrise, uncertain of what lay ahead. We had no idea where I would stay, how long we would be here, or even what the next few hours would hold. We came carrying a list of serious complications: multiple infections, a severe fungal infection on my daughter's back, and M on the highest ventilator settings. Despite all this, as I entered the NICU, I clung to a thread of hope that maybe this would be the turning point M needed to keep fighting.

From the very beginning, Rhea was a source of reassurance, compassion, and strength. She met us with kindness and patience, showing a level of empathy that we will forever be grateful for. Rhea's dedication to M's care was remarkable; she ensured she was always informed of every aspect of M's condition and took the time to keep me updated as well. I was never left feeling in the dark. Instead, I felt included in every step of the care plan, as if I were a vital part of the team, not just a bystander. Rhea celebrated with us on the good days, finding joy in even the smallest wins, and on tougher days, she was there with understanding and support, listening and guiding me through every setback with grace.

In the NICU's busiest, most chaotic moments, Rhea made time to listen. She reassured me that my feelings were valid, offered a safe place to talk openly about my fears and frustrations, and supported me in navigating a journey that no parent should ever have to face alone. Her presence allowed me to find peace, to trust that M was in good hands, even if I stepped away.

Rhea went out of her way to connect with resources when my insurance was at risk, helping ease financial worries that felt overwhelming on top of everything else. Because of her, I could spend time with my other children, knowing M was in the hands of someone who truly cared. Rhea's dedication, empathy, and genuine care have turned impossible days into bearable ones and made good days brighter. She is a gift to every family who walks through the doors of the NICU, a nurse who makes a profound difference in ways words cannot fully capture. M and I are beyond lucky to have her, and every parent who has Rhea by their side is equally blessed. Rhea is not just an extraordinary Nurse- she is a beacon of hope in the darkest moments, and I am forever grateful to her.
