Shicong Mu went above and beyond by explaining how the pain cycle works. I was trying to set a schedule for pain meds based on my healing process, but that was not how it worked. I was taking meds every 6 hours, pain or not, because I thought I would not get the medication unless the 6-hour timetable was at the exact 6 hours . If I didn't take them at my 6-hour time, I would have to wait an additional 6 hours, even if I was in pain. My goal is to only take pain meds when I need them, and that I'm not going to be left in pain. Shicong was there when I needed her to explain things and reassured me I was in good hands. She had empathy and compassion and was a great listener and communicator. I hope to see her again!
