I just want to take a moment to recognize a wonderful young man named Darnell. He works on the 7th floor, where they take care of the emergency room patients waiting for a room.

He was so kind to my 97-year-old mother, who was very ill and very scared. He heard us crying since we were scared, and we asked him if he would pray with us. He took the time to pray and hold our hands and even sang hymns with my mother to help comfort her.

He went above and beyond for us, and it made all the difference in the world. He even bought me a hot chocolate with his own money when I said I used to have them as a little girl to calm me down. I didn’t have any money on me, and he surprised me with a hot chocolate.

The world needs more nurses like Darnell!
