I can say with full confidence that there is not a soul on this earth that Stephany wouldn’t find a way to help if they crossed her path.

Stephany Hill is an extraordinary nurse with experience on many healthcare platforms, but has exceptionally grown in dialysis. She started with DaVita as a Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse, and within her first year, was self-driven to make a difference in all dialysis patients’ lives as an in-center nurse and home hemodialysis nurse. By her second year, she was actively working in all three dialysis modalities and supporting nursing care for all clinics in our region. Her career is driven by the need to learn more for herself so she can better take care of her patients. Service before self.

On her mission to make a difference in healthcare, she empowers nurses and technicians to stay positive, do the right thing, and lead with integrity and heart. Stephany is a voice of reason when something doesn’t go right, and a beacon of hope during a tough day or stressful situation. Her engagement and excitement about nursing sparks something in our teams that drives us to be better nurses and people in the world. Stephany is uplifting!

She is always coming up with creative ways to help patients learn and have fun at the same time, for example, wearing a chicken costume to encourage protein intake, or coming up with a catchy phrase that helps patients retain education. She also cares for our teammates by organizing fun potlucks, like the “Spud Social,” where she brought in a baked potato bar, which will now be the “Annual Spud Social” because everyone loved it so much. And her actions are not unique to just her home clinic; she brings the same fun and positivity to covering clinics as well. She brings a smile to our hearts in many ways.

Aside from nursing and teammate engagement, Stephany is passionate about nursing and a true patient advocate. She reinforces patient and family-centered care at her core. She is a spark for providing hope and encouraging patients to take charge of their health, always actively listening and providing useful tools and resources geared towards their specific needs. She has a gift for empathizing with our patients and their values and builds on that relationship to drive a better outcome for each individual and family member. She is often not only treating our patients in the home dialysis setting but also providing advice and a listening ear for their care partners.

I can say with full confidence that there is not a soul on this earth that Stephany wouldn’t find a way to help if they crossed her path. She truly embodies everything that makes a good nurse, teammate, and friend.
