One moment that stands out occurred when a patient presented with significant confusion and medical concerns. He wasn't himself at all, and the Nurse Practitioner had not come yet. While he was sitting in the chair, he became unable to verbally tell anyone he had to go to the restroom, let alone get to the restroom. He had an incident of incontinence. During this situation, Latia remained calm, attentive, and compassionate. Before the Nurse Practitioner could make the call that this patient needed to go out, Latia called it that he needed to get out as soon as possible.
She took the time to actively listen, thoroughly assess the individual's needs, and provide both medical care and emotional support. Her ability to evaluate the situation and stay calm and focused while delivering crucial medical information was invaluable. It not only improved the patient's condition but also created a sense of trust and safety.
