We could not have asked for anyone better to guide us through such a special and scary time.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for the incredible Labor and Delivery nurse, Dawn Miranda, who cared for me during the birth of my first baby at Texas Children’s Hospital Women’s Pavilion.
From the moment she entered the room, she went above and beyond to make my labor experience as easy, comfortable, and positive as possible.
Right away, Dawn ensured that everything was clean, organized, and calm. She made sure I was able to get a shower and feel refreshed before induction began. Every step of the process was clearly explained, which helped me feel informed rather than overwhelmed.
When it was time for the catheter and induction to start, she walked me through how everything worked, checked that I was comfortable, and continuously reminded me to breathe and relax, which made such a difference.
She checked on me constantly and truly reassured me that choosing an epidural was absolutely okay. During the placement, she coached me into the correct position, helped me stay still, and talked me through every moment, so I felt safe and confident.
When the time came to push, Dawn was the most supportive presence in the room. She encouraged me, helped me understand exactly how to push, and held my leg the entire time, never leaving my side. Thanks to her guidance and care, I was able to deliver my daughter in just six pushes and under twenty minutes.
Even after delivery, Dawn continued to provide outstanding postpartum care. She made sure I was cleaned up, comfortable, and fully supported before I transferred to the mother-baby unit. Every detail was handled with such compassion and attentiveness.
Dawn’s dedication, kindness, and expertise turned what could have been a frightening and stressful experience into something empowering and beautiful. I will always remember how she made me feel safe, cared for, and capable. She is truly an exceptional nurse, and I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for me and my family.

My sister recently gave birth to her first child, and it was a very emotional and frightening experience for our family. There were concerns about the baby, and my sister was understandably scared.
From the moment Dawn walked into the room, everything changed. She brought such a calm and comforting presence that instantly put my sister at ease.
Dawn explained every step, spoke with kindness and patience, and made sure my sister felt safe and cared for through every moment. Her years of experience showed in the way she handled each situation with confidence and compassion.
Dawn has been a nurse for 40 years, and it’s clear that she was made for this work. She supported my sister not just medically, but emotionally, and she treated our family as if we were her own.
We could not have asked for anyone better to guide us through such a special and scary time. We will always remember her warmth, her steady reassurance, and the genuine care she showed.
