I would like to nominate Cooper Edwards for his exceptional dedication and compassion for the pediatric population in our community.

On his scheduled day off, he willingly came in during the night to help facilitate and administer a pediatric infusion. His decision to step in without hesitation reflects not only professionalism, but a deep commitment to patient-centered care.

Pediatric infusions can be overwhelming for both the child and their parent, particularly during nighttime hours when anxiety and fatigue are heightened. By coming in to assist, he significantly eased the burden on both the patient and the child’s mother. His calm presence, clinical expertise, and willingness to take the time needed helped create a sense of reassurance and safety during what could have been a very stressful experience.

He coordinated care with the provider, and his actions reduced delays in care, provided continuity, and ensured that the infusion was administered smoothly and safely. More importantly, his compassion and attentiveness helped ease the emotional strain on the family, allowing the mother to feel supported and confident that her child was in capable hands.

This level of dedication goes above and beyond expectations and exemplifies the very best of nursing. We are fortunate to have a nurse who consistently prioritizes the well-being of patients and families, even when it requires personal sacrifice.
