She is always the first to volunteer to help out and always advocates for our patients and our staff.
She is the epitome of a leader and is such an asset to this team. I know that whenever she is in charge, even if the night is busy, she is going to be right there with us in the thick of it, leading us through. Two examples come to mind recently. One night I was assigned to tech and was in and out of a patient's room who progressively got sicker throughout the night. Both the primary nurse and the special one in charge were able to escalate the situation to the appropriate providers. She didn't hesitate to stay alongside me and that primary nurse to help provide the care that patient needed.
Another night recently, staffing wasn't ideal, and I ended up over our standard assignment. I had a patient who ended up having her discharge canceled and needed an IV for severe range pressures, and I got two transfers to our unit within 10 minutes of one another. Once again, she was there with me every step of the way, asking how she could help make sure not only that my patients were okay but that I was, too. She is always the first to volunteer to help out and always advocates for our patients and our staff. Being able to work alongside her is truly a gift.
