She takes every concern seriously, no matter how small, and always pushes for what’s right for patients and staff.
Carrie is an outstanding nurse leader who consistently puts patient safety, patient satisfaction, and quality care first. She works hard to keep up with the ever-changing medical landscape and partners closely with providers to keep the workplace running smoothly. She takes every concern seriously, no matter how small, and always pushes for what’s right for patients and staff.
System-wide, Carrie has demonstrated outstanding initiative and impact through her leadership of the Oregon Perinatal Collaborative Newborn Resuscitation quality improvement project. She has taken responsibility for reviewing and submitting data for all five sites, coordinating leaders across the system, and ensuring staff receive consistent education so that newborns and families receive high-quality care no matter where they deliver. Her responsiveness and enthusiasm are unmatched—whether she is asked to lead a project, provide subject-matter expertise, or support an urgent issue, such as the recent Broselow tape recall, she acts swiftly and thoughtfully, with unwavering commitment to patient safety.
Carrie ensures her staff has the tools, support, and education they need to provide excellent care, a fact reflected in the frequent DAISY Award nominations her team receives. Under her leadership, the Women’s Center has truly become a culture of excellence in every sense of the word.
