What makes Tiffany truly remarkable is that our family is only one of hundreds whose lives she has impacted. She listens deeply, advocates fiercely, and never loses sight of the child and family behind the diagnosis.
I was once told that a single exceptional medical professional can change the course of a person’s life. For our family, and many others, that person is Tiffany.
Tiffany has had an extraordinary impact on our family. She played a critical role in helping save our now 7-year-old daughter’s life by identifying the underlying cause of her recurrent intussusception, which began at age four. Our daughter experienced three episodes over a nine-month period, leading to further complications, including C. diff and epilepsy. Prior to her intussusception, our daughter was anemic, frequently sick, and had low energy.
When our daughter had Intussusception for the second time (three weeks after she had surgery to correct it). The local children’s hospital said they didn’t know why it was happening and didn’t help at all. They discharged us (when our daughter unknowingly had C. diff hospital-acquired). It was not until we met Tiffany that we got help. While many medical professionals and hospitalists struggled to identify the cause of her recurrent intussusception and epilepsy, Tiffany was the first person who truly listened.
She approached our daughter's case with both curiosity and determination, refusing to accept uncertainty as the final answer. We know she spent countless hours consulting with colleagues, reviewing medical literature, and pursuing every possible avenue in search of answers for our family. Tiffany immediately tested her for c-diff (it was positive), got her treatment, and then said we are going to figure out what’s causing this. She did her research, consulted with others, and about a month later confirmed celiac.
Tiffany was diligent and persistent in determining the cause of the recurrence—celiac disease. Because of her early diagnosis, we were able to move forward more quickly with the appropriate care, allowing our daughter to be further along in her recovery. She not only made this connection early, but also ensured our daughter was connected with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and consistently advocated for her throughout the entire process.
Our daughter required multiple overnight admissions and continues to see specialists regularly for her celiac disease and epilepsy. Throughout her care, Tiffany has gone above and beyond—consulting closely with specialists, submitting records promptly, and providing thoughtful, expert clinical guidance. Thanks in large part to Tiffany’s dedication, our daughter is now happy, healthy, and thriving.
What makes Tiffany truly remarkable is that our family is only one of hundreds whose lives she has impacted. She listens deeply, advocates fiercely, and never loses sight of the child and family behind the diagnosis.
Beyond her clinical expertise, Tiffany consistently demonstrates compassion, kindness, and unwavering support. She has been a steady source of reassurance during some of our most difficult moments. It is clear that she not only cares deeply for her patients, but also for their families.
We strongly believe Tiffany’s dedication, advocacy, and exceptional level of care make her truly deserving of this recognition. She has made a lasting difference in our daughter’s life and in the lives of many others. Our community is incredibly fortunate to have her. We will forever be grateful for the difference Tiffany made in our daughter's life, and I know countless other families share that same gratitude. As a Coachella Valley native, I am especially thankful that our community has someone of her caliber, compassion, and dedication caring for its children.
