She has a way to brighten our toughest days here. The compassion that flows from her is inspiring.
Under the direction and leadership of Christy, the Med Surg department has seen dramatic improvements in patient satisfaction scores, teamwork, staff satisfaction, and patient care.

The team has stabilized their staffing model and is engaged in the department and with the care they provide. Christy’s leadership is evident when you attend her staff meetings and see her interactions in the department, with the way she shows care and compassion for her staff and addresses their needs in a timely manner. She is genuinely engaged with her employees and wants the best for them.

Christy rounds on the patients to make sure they have their needs met as well, and works well with the providers and the ancillary departments. Christy role models our mission to ensure that all patients and staff are treated like a member of our own family. Christy looks for the best in everyone and encourages them to learn and grow. Christy always has a smile on her face, and I have never met someone with a more positive attitude than her.

Even on days that aren’t flowing smoothly, she never lets that get her down. She has a way to brighten our toughest days here. The compassion that flows from her is inspiring. She has a talent for speaking and connecting to patients or staff in a crisis situation, in a way that is calming and reassuring. Christy really brings out the best in people through clarity, trust, and her supportive personality.

She has a way of connecting assignments and tasks to a purpose, so her staff can understand better why it is important. She focuses on growth and finding solutions, no matter the situation. She has created an environment for her staff that feels safe and comfortable. She offers acknowledgments to those who stand out, and we hope this award speaks the same way to her. Christy is a wonderful manager and person. We are proud of the work she has done, and she is very deserving of this award.
