I would like to nominate Nurse Monna for the DAISY award recognition of the exceptional care she provided to me during a recent renal ablation procedure at UMC. I have spent many years observing healthcare teams in action and understand the high standards required to deliver excellent patient care. What I experienced during my procedure at UMC, and particularly from Nurse Monna, exemplified those standards at the highest level.

From the moment I arrived in the Cath Lab, Monna demonstrated professionalism, competence, and genuine compassion. She ensured I understood each step of the process, anticipated my needs, and helped alleviate the natural anxiety that comes with a medical procedure. What stood out most was the way she combined clinical excellence with authentic human care. She treated me not just as a patient, but as a person. Equally impressive was how seamlessly she worked with the rest of the care team. It was clear that the Cath Lab staff functioned as a cohesive unit, communicating effectively and supporting one another, with Monna playing a key role in that teamwork.

What truly left a lasting impression on me was her dedication throughout the entire process. She remained attentive to my comfort and safety throughout the procedure and personally ensured my safe transport afterward. Her kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism made a stressful experience far easier for both my family and me.

In my experience working in healthcare leadership, caregivers like Monna are the heart of great medical institutions.
