Ms. Kris has been an exceptional leader! When I started out, I was sure I would stay for 3 – 6 months as a traveler then move on to my next contract – until I met Ms. Kris. To begin with her demeanor is so welcoming! She is extremely welcoming. She is very kind and understands. This makes it very easy to go to her for any concerns or questions.

In addition, she gives everyone, both travelers and core an opportunity for growth within the unit – be it being a team lead, a preceptor, a champion without any bias or exception. Such leadership is the reason I am considering transitioning from travel to a core nurse on her floor. Ms. Kris bears no judgment. If you go to her, she listens and gives sound wisdom on and off work-related issues.

During this contract, I had a family loss that broke me. She was very understanding and accommodated the time I needed for travel and funeral needs without questions. Her compassion is palpable! Ms. Kris is present. I have been in units and hospitals where it’s almost impossible to see leadership. She has an open-door policy and even walks in the unit every time she is around, checking on everyone. In the case we have a rapid response or code, she comes to the unit and stays until the patient is stable or upgrade is established – this is very commendable!

I am so glad I work under4 such incredible leadership and I hope she gets recognized for the amazing person and leader she is. Thank her for us all!
