I would like to nominate Guadalupe Campos for the DAISY Award because she has consistently gone above and beyond in every aspect of my daughter’s care. Even on days when my daughter is not her assigned patient, she still makes the effort to check in on her, ensure she’s okay, and support us in any way she can. Her dedication is truly exceptional. Throughout our journey, she has patiently taught me everything I need to know to care for my daughter, from NG tube care to feeds, medications, and so much more. No matter what I ask, she always takes the time to help, explain, and reassure. We often “pick her brain” because she is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to share her expertise. She treats my daughter as if she were her own child. She is sympathetic to parents’ needs, incredibly trustworthy, and genuinely loving and caring. On the nights my daughter is assigned to her, I can actually go home and rest knowing she is in the absolute best hands. That peace of mind is priceless. She has become a source of comfort during some of our hardest days. She advocates for my daughter as if she were part of her own family. She never makes us feel like a burden; instead, she makes us feel supported, heard, and understood. Her presence alone brings us a sense of calm and safety. Her passion for her work is unmistakable. It shows in the way she communicates, the patience she shows, the attention to detail she gives, and the compassion she brings into every interaction. She is an extraordinary nurse and an extraordinary human being. It is an honor to nominate her. She truly represents everything the DAISY Award stands for.
