As family rushed from all over the country to be at the bedside, she bent over backward to accommodate, from high-intensity critical care treatment to the simple things like bringing in more chairs, or just cups of water.
My father had a massive brain bleed after what was supposed to be routine preventative surgery. This was completely unexpected for our family and absolutely devastating. We went from a routine minor procedure to a life-altering diagnosis to brain death and organ donation in a matter of two days.
Jihan was with us for all of it, and she made it bearable. She demonstrated incredible kindness, treating both my father and our family with compassion. She translated medical terms effortlessly between the providers and our family, and gladly tolerated explaining the same thing twenty times to different family members as we all struggled to come to grips with it. When she signed out at the end of her last shift with us, we were all sad to see such a strong ally leave the bedside. Truly a wonderful nurse, caretaker, and person.
