This DAISY nomination is for Sinamon Meyer, a charge nurse from 2South. During the CAUTI Challenge led by Infection Prevention, Sinamon served as CAUTI Champion for her unit. During the CAUTI Challenge and after the challenge ended, she not only audited all of her indwelling catheters daily but also advocated for patients to have their indwelling catheters reviewed for removal each day. She provided follow-up and kept the team involved in all the patients’ statuses. Her continued diligence and persistence helped maintain her department's CAUTI-free status and hardwire CAUTI-prevention components when audits are completed. Her team continues to have low utilization and improved compliance with bundle components, which is a testament to the education she has provided. Sinamon has since advanced to a Unit-Based Educator, and I look forward to seeing her grow as a nurse leader and to seeing her team members grow in their careers as well. She is always approachable, friendly, and welcoming, and a friend to Infection Prevention!
