Med Surg would like to recognize Ron Cajala from the Informatics team for his incredible responsiveness and dedication to supporting our nursing staff. Earlier this morning one of the FP Med Surg nurses was unable to log into Cerner at the start of their shift. As you can imagine, beginning a busy shift unable to document and pass medications created great of stress. The nurses reached out to the help desk multiple times, but unfortunately was unable to find a solution there. When I contacted Ron, he immediately took initiative of the issue.

Within an hour, he investigated the problem, promptly communicated, and resolved the login error so the nurse could fully function in Cerner. His quick actions turned what could have been a chaotic and unsafe start to the day into a smoothly. This is not the first time Ron has stepped in to resolve access and informatics issues. It always seems to be a “now” problem when I contact him and Ron treats it that way every single time! Ron’s immediate willingness to assist, even beyond his usual scope, reflects true teamwork, compassion and a commitment to patient care. His support not only made a difference for the nurse involved, but ensured that safe, timely care continued for our patients.

I am truly grateful for his expertise and the calm, collaborative approach he brings to every situation. Thank you, Ron, for always being available to support our nursing team!
