It is with heartfelt appreciation and the utmost respect that I nominate Sandra Campos, an outstanding allergy nurse at the UCSD Allergy Clinic, for the DAISY Award. Sandra stands out as one of the most dependable and empathetic members of our team. She navigates a demanding patient load each day and carries out a wide range of nursing responsibilities with skill, grace, and sincere compassion.

What truly sets Sandra apart is her gift for forging genuine, trusting relationships with her patients. One, a long-term participant in our immunotherapy program, formed a deep connection with Sandra thanks to her steady presence, active listening, and warm, therapeutic approach. Sandra became an anchor for this individual during one of the darkest and most challenging periods of their life. In fact, just today, this very patient made a special trip to our clinic not for treatment, but to personally bring Sandra flowers and a handwritten note. The note simply said, "Thank you for being so kind and accommodating throughout one of the worst times of my life." That small moment speaks volumes about the lasting impact Sandra has on those she serves.
