If Daisy had not been there at that exact moment we might have had a very different outcome.

My husband had been at Avera McKennan Hospital for a few days with tonsilitis. He is a type 2 diabetic. He was given prednisone to take the swelling down. They told us that the medicine would spike his numbers which it did. What they did not tell us was that it could "crash."

We left our home on Friday, on a trip to Wyoming. Stopping at Wall Drug, we parked near a bench (the only bench on the block). When we got out, my husband was so dizzy that he grabbed onto the pole in front of him. Three people were coming down the street at that exact moment. I yelled, "I need help now!" There was a mom, daughter, and her son. They helped me get my husband seated on the bench. They then proceeded to give him some apple sauce and yogurt, and grapes from their car.

My husband remarked that "she must be in the medical field." Her mom said, "Daisy is a nurse. She's from Yankton." They waited with us until I could get orange juice for my husband from the cafe and made sure, he was okay. It was a miracle. If Daisy had not been there at that exact moment we might have had a very different outcome. She's a real "hero." We are thankful for Daisy and her family's assistance.
