Lauren cared for G in February and March 2026, supporting him through his transition to comfort care and remaining by his side at the time of his passing. Lauren embodies the very spirit of the DAISY Award. Her exceptional clinical skill, depth of knowledge, and steady presence brought comfort not only to G, but also to his family - his wife, daughter, and son. Throughout G's care, we had many questions, and Lauren provided clear, thoughtful answers. She explained complex anatomy in ways we could understand, clarified medications and their effectiveness, and walked us through procedures and how they would support G's comfort and care.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Lauren showed remarkable compassion. She reached out to providers when further clarification was needed, connected us with social workers for emotional support, and regularly checked in to anticipate our needs. She had an intuitive sense of when to offer guidance and when to give privacy. An invaluable gift during such a difficult time. Her kindness and attentiveness helped ease an otherwise overwhelming experience, and she became a true partner in G's care. We will always remember Lauren as an extraordinary nurse who stood with us, offering comfort and dignity, when G passed away.
