I would like to nominate Samuel Firth, RN, from the Emergency Department for the DAISY Award because he went above and beyond exceptional during my stay in the ED. From the moment Samuel introduced himself, his calm presence and genuine compassion immediately put me at ease during a very stressful situation. He demonstrated an outstanding bedside manner, taking the time to thoroughly explain every test, medication, and next step in my care in a way that was easy to understand and reassuring. He never made me feel rushed and always made sure my questions were answered. What truly stood out was how attentive and considerate Samuel was not only to me, but also to my daughter. He took extra time to make sure she felt comfortable, safe, and included, which meant more to me than I can express. His kindness and empathy made a difficult experience much more manageable for both of us. Throughout my stay, Samuel consistently checked in on me, anticipating my needs before I even had to ask.

He maintained excellent communication, professionalism, and a positive attitude despite the fast-paced and demanding environment of the Emergency Department. It was clear that he genuinely cares about his patients and takes pride in providing high-quality, compassionate nursing care. Samuel is an incredible example of what nursing should be, and his dedication, compassion, and advocacy for his patients truly deserve recognition. I am extremely grateful for the care he provided and believe he is more than deserving of the DAISY Award.
