It was reported by the patient's mother when she called to speak to Laurel that because of  her, her son was not gravely ill or even worse. The patient was seen by Laurel at Berlin  Urgent Care. Laurel evaluated him and referred him to the emergency  department for further evaluation of abdominal pain. Despite mom being convinced it  was nothing more than his normal constipation, she took the advice of Laurel and  went to the emergency room. She was glad she did because it turns out that the  child had appendicitis, as Laurel suspected. Mom called Laurel to thank her, very  tearfully and stated, "thank you for not dismissing him like she easily could have or  else he would have been really sick".
