After being in the ER waiting room and then on a bed in the ER hallway for more than seven hours, Gavin was the first person to bring calmness into our experience.

He was cheerful, attentive, and helpful, and he paid attention to keeping his workspace clean. After many promises from other people, he was the one to actually bring much-needed crackers. Gavin takes the time to explain the medicines he is giving, why they are being given, and how the patient might feel after receiving the medicine.

He takes the time to let us know what is happening next and how long we might be waiting during each step. His providing information and his calm, caring demeanor helped us experience less anxiety. For these reasons, I believe Gavin to be deserving of this DAISY Award.
