Her actions literally saved my life.
To say the Universe works in mysterious ways would be an understatement.
Mandy got called early for her shift and came in. When she got there, I had just been admitted, and she had to start antibiotics for me. She started them and ran out of the room to check on the floor with the other patients coming in, and one set to transfer.
She decided to come back and check if I needed anything. I told her I started to feel warm and itchy only a few minutes after starting the medicine. She instantly jumped into action. She stopped the IV and ran to get Benadryl. When she got back, I remember telling her I was having a hard time breathing. Everything went light and the next thing I knew, I was waking up in a room full of people.
I had gone into anaphylactic shock, and she did not hesitate in calling for help. Even though I was a co-worker and someone she had known for years, she put on her professional hat and reacted. Her actions literally saved my life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
