It is an honor and a pleasure to recognize Kristin, as she has consistently demonstrated a level of compassion, professionalism, and advocacy that has far exceeded what is expected of them at this stage of their career.

She understands that nursing is about more than clinical tasks; it is about seeing the human behind the diagnosis. During her preceptorship in Oncology, I often heard stories of how she would spend time getting to know who the patient was as a person, and often was able to take that information and integrate it into the care this student would provide.

Kristin is in a unique position because she is also a caregiver at home and has often stated that their drive in becoming a nurse is to provide the care they would want for their loved one. She embodies the spirit of Mercy College of Health Sciences and the values and mission we hold dear. No matter where she goes in the future, she will undoubtedly be an extraordinary nurse.
