From Cardiac Caths, to continuous BiPAP, to trach/vent patients, this unit works as a team to support our patients and each other. We have trialled multiple new practices for the improvement of care throughout our hospital, including insulin dispensing from the Omnicell, bedside ER report to improve throughput, and expertise in a new monitor system to add 11 more intermediate care beds to our facility during our time of great need, as the only hospital in the county.

Team Leads vigilantly watch the monitors in addition to their typical assigned charge nurse duties. The staff nurses have spent the last year orienting the new Trumbull and new grad nurses, accommodating, and welcoming the newcomers with open arms and a smile, all while caring for acutely ill cardiac patients with skill and accompanying monitored patients to tests off the floor.

If any staff member gets behind in their assignment, the whole team jumps in to help or cover. Staff members, physicians, and patients alike compliment the staff on their teamwork and dedication. I am proud to be a part of this team/family.
