My wife and I drove to the Marshfield Medical Center here in Eau Claire to get help with my atrial fibrillation, which was causing extreme anxiety and fear. We were brought to a room within five minutes, where we were met with Esther. While I had experienced afib two years prior at Marshfield, I subsequently began being seen by Doctor B and then had a ventricular ablation at the Minneapolis Heart Center. I felt scared and had numerous questions. Esther was the rock on which I could depend. She has an amazing ability to simultaneously administer multiple nursing skills and reassure patients like me, all while asking dozens of questions. Reading Esther's face and tone of voice at once made it clear that my issue was serious and that a positive outcome was very likely. I felt included as we discussed what could have caused my afib. She also brought a sense of humor as we talked, which also reassured me. I found that the entire Marshfield staff – including the phlebotomist, X-Ray tech, respiratory therapist, and traveling ER physician to be professional and respectful in my time of need. Esther stood out through her professional expertise, caring demeanor, and answers to my many questions. She is an excellent reflection of the quality medical care that the Marshfield Medical Center provides.
