I would like to nominate Anthony DiAmore for the DAISY Award for his extraordinary actions and professionalism. While standing at the nurse's station, he noticed a patient suddenly begin choking. Without hesitation, he immediately jumped into action. He did not wait to be asked, and he did not panic. He responded instinctively and confidently, performing the Heimlich maneuver to help the patient. Throughout the entire emergency, he remained cool, calm, and collected. His quick thinking and decisive response made all the difference in that critical moment. He demonstrated not only clinical skill, but courage, leadership, and a deep commitment to patient safety. What stood out most was how naturally he stepped in. He embodied what nursing is truly about – being present, being prepared, and putting patients first all the time. His ability to stay composed under pressure reflects exceptional professionalism and dedication.
