Sara was our blessing in disguise, and we are so thankful that the Lord sent us a true angel.
Sara was an absolutely lovely person to have during our time of need. She didn't take no for an answer and literally did everything in her power to ensure we got our Hunter back. She is extraordinary at her job, and it is clearly a job that she performs from the heart. Sara is very bright, loving, kind, considerate, humorous, and persistent. All things we and those experiencing trauma highly admire. Sara was our blessing in disguise, and we are so thankful that the Lord sent us a true angel.
Sara was such a bright light during the night shift. Her kindness and giving spirit were so appreciated. She gave him a hat from the nurses on the 5th floor, which we later found out she had made and shared. He kept it on his bed where he could constantly touch it since it felt so soft. On his last day, she made him a lap blanket, which was beyond generous.
She always made us feel as though we were her only patient and always took the time to explain and troubleshoot any side effects we were experiencing. She was so kind and knowledgeable about medications and ways to make him more comfortable.
She felt like family to us and genuinely cared. Duke is so very fortunate to have Sara represent their hospital. She is definitely a shooting star.
