My entire family's experience was made infinitely better because of Genet.
Genet took care of my mother after she suffered an aneurysm at 49 and was placed on life support. The first morning I met her, I had woken at my mom's bedside, and Genet was there to ask me questions, make my mom comfortable, and hold me while I cried. She treated my family and my mother with the utmost care and spoke to her as if she were any conscious patient. She constantly checked in on my siblings and me, and knew my name without ever even asking.

The morning my mother passed, Genet tiptoed around me to make sure not to wake me while I slept at her bedside, and when I did wake up, she tucked my blankets around me and gave me a huge hug. When it came time for my mother's Honor Walk and passing, Genet made sure I was prepared and comfortable, and was front and center to bring my mom to the OR. She was by my side every second, and cried with me and supported me through the entire process.

Afterward, she ensured my belongings were safely packed and ready for me to take, and waited outside the hospital room to ensure she got to give me a hug goodbye. My entire family's experience was made infinitely better because of Genet. In the darkest moment of our lives, and especially my life, she provided care that I'm not sure anyone else could. She brought light. I will never forget how wonderful she made the worst experience, something I never thought possible. She showed me a love I wasn't sure existed after losing my mother.
