I just wanted to reach out and share that during the past few weeks, both Danny and Jason have taken the time out of their day to sit down with our security team once a week, to brainstorm and share ideas on how we can best work together as a team to provide care and plan interventions for our challenging patient. Together, we’ve collaborated, drawing on takeaways from both the medical/behavioral health and security angles. From there, these two created a framework plan, incorporating details from both the security and medical staff’s perspectives. The officers were able to provide feedback, with revisions made as needed, and were appreciative to have this document to refer to, as this situation felt challenging and unlike what all of us are accustomed to dealing with, I think. These two have been just wonderful to work with: kind, intelligent, thoughtful, and willing to genuinely collaborate with our department to determine how we can help this patient in these unique circumstances. I just felt that their leadership should be aware of the good work these two are doing as a team to make positive changes.
