I would like to nominate Dakalo Modau from the Midstream Mediclinic maternity ward. As a first-time mom, I was incredibly grateful for her support during my first few days with my newborn. Dakalo helped me with breastfeeding and latching and quickly identified that my baby daughter had both an upper and lower tongue tie. She contacted the doctor, even though he was off duty, and he came in to confirm her assessment and scheduled the procedure for the next morning. After that, breastfeeding became so much easier. If it had not been for Dakalo, I would not have known my baby needed help. She also cared for my daughter while she was under the blue lights for 24 hours, and before we were discharged, she gave us a demonstration bath with clear, practical guidance on how to bathe and care for our baby girl at home. We will forever be grateful for Dakalo!
