I would like to recognize Tami for the incredible compassion, skill, and heart she brings to her patients and her team.

Recently, I had a STEMI patient walk through the front door in need of immediate, life-saving care. Without hesitation, Tami jumped right in to help me, making sure we could provide fast and timely care when every second mattered. Her calm presence and willingness to step in immediately made a significant difference in that critical moment.

While we were working to stabilize the patient, he asked if we believed in God and asked us to pray for him. Without pausing and while skillfully placing an IV, Tami began to pray out loud. She prayed for the patient, his wife at the bedside, the team caring for him, and the cath lab staff who would be continuing his care. In the middle of a high-stress situation, she provided not only expert clinical care but also comfort, hope, and peace. I remember looking at the patient and seeing the fear in his face soften into relief.

It was a powerful and emotional moment that reminded me of the true impact of compassionate nursing. Even more inspiring, Tami was orienting a new nurse that day, yet she never hesitated to step in and help wherever she was needed. She leads by example, supports her team, and consistently goes above and beyond for her patients and colleagues.

Since I started working at this hospital a year ago, Tami has been a role model and an incredible preceptor. She is kind, patient, and deeply committed to those around her. I truly admire her and aspire to provide the same level of care, compassion, and professionalism that she demonstrates every day. Tami embodies what it means to be a nurse, and I can't think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.
