John made sure to let me know everything he did or was doing for her, not only comforting her but me as well.
My sister, who is age 57 with Down Syndrome and dementia, was admitted for dehydration and elevated sodium levels. She was transferred. The nursing home had not notified me of any of this. Nurse John Doody called me at 10:30 pm, asking how to care for her because the home hadn’t sent any records on her. John saw how alarmed I was and had such a calming demeanor. He quickly explained how I could get into the hospital after hours and that he would be waiting for my arrival.

My sister had a childlike mentality, and John understood. He listened as I explained how my sister and I had lost our mother and then our brother shortly after. I was the last and only family she had, and he saw how I cared for her deeply. John made sure to let me know everything he did or was doing for her, not only comforting her but me as well. John was her evening nurse for four nights when I put her on comfort care with hospice. He is a great nurse with compassion for everyone. I would choose him to always care for my loved ones.
