She is inspirational to the team she leads and me.
Andrea has many years of experience in nursing. She has spent many of those years in leadership. Since coming to Cone Health, she has been tasked with implementing changes to practice and culture in those areas she was a leader of.
In her process of those changes, she has engaged the staff, worked alongsideĀ them to learn and recognize their challenges and their needs. She is humble in receiving feedback from her team when she may have gone about a decision or made a decision that was not successful. She is inspirational to the team she leads and me. For example, she recognized that the BHUC needed a present leader in the wake of a leader leaving who was not present or supportive.
The team was not welcoming and was hesitant to trust her and follow her. She was present day in and out, coming in early and staying late to meet everyone, learn who they are, and form a relationship of trust and mutual respect. She led the group to a high-performing team. She has mentored a new nurse leader who is high-performing and effective in his role.
Andrea remains positive, driven, and engaged and has made an immeasurable positive impact on the Cone Health Behavioral Health Service Line.
