I am one of the charge nurses in Med Surg. Cheri Nelson is my CANM at night and I would like to nominate her for the DAISY Leader Award.
I would like to nominate her for the DAISY Award for Nurse Leaders in recognition of her exceptional leadership, compassion, and unwavering support for both patients and staff. Cheri consistently demonstrates the qualities of an outstanding nurse leader. She leads with integrity, respect, and genuine care for everyone on the team. Her ability to foster a supportive, collaborative work environment enables staff to feel valued, heard, and empowered to deliver the highest level of patient care. Cheri’s leadership style encourages growth, accountability, and teamwork, which greatly contributes to the success of our unit.
One of Cheri’s most remarkable qualities is her approachability and willingness to help. No matter how busy the unit may be, she always makes time to support staff, provide guidance, and ensure that patient care remains the top priority. She leads by example, demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and strong clinical judgment in every situation.
