This team plays a critical yet sometimes unseen role in supporting patients, families, surgeons, and anesthesia providers throughout the surgical experience.
The Hillcrest Hospital Perioperative Services Team exemplifies the true spirit of the Team DAISY Award through their unwavering commitment to excellence, collaboration, and compassionate care. Under the leadership of Stacey Seay and Carlee Baynes, the teams spanning Pre-Op, PACU, GI, and Central Sterile Processing consistently demonstrate what it means to work as one cohesive, high-performing unit dedicated to safe, high-quality patient care.
Often working behind the scenes, this team plays a critical yet sometimes unseen role in supporting patients, families, surgeons, and anesthesia providers throughout the surgical experience. Their willingness to step beyond scheduled hours, with grace, professionalism, and dignity, reflects a deep commitment to those they serve.
Their outcomes speak volumes. Over the past year, the team has achieved zero surgical site infections and zero serious safety events, an extraordinary accomplishment that highlights their vigilance, expertise, and dedication to best practices.
Beyond their daily responsibilities, this team is highly engaged in both unit-level and campus-wide initiatives. They actively contribute ideas, provide valuable input, and help drive meaningful change that enhances patient care delivery. Their innovative mindset and adaptability allow them to respond effectively to any situation, and they consistently demonstrate the courage to speak up when it matters most.
Additionally, their support extends beyond their own facility. They have stepped in to assist sister facilities with the same level of commitment and compassion, reinforcing their dedication to serving patients across the broader healthcare system.
There are truly not enough words to fully express our gratitude for this exceptional team. Their impact is profound, their teamwork is inspiring, and their commitment to excellence sets a standard for all. The Hillcrest Hospital Perioperative Services Team is more than deserving of recognition as a Team DAISY honoree.
