Our experience on your unit will forever be a wonderful, peaceful experience that we will cherish forever.
I wanted to reach out to you to share some wonderful things about our experience with your nurses and doctors on B4/4 Neuro ICU. My mom was admitted to your unit as she needed to be intubated. She was a “no intubation,” but as her POA for HC, I had to decide to either let her die alone or intubate her and give us all time to get there. Your staff kept her safe until we all got there and allowed many of us to come and have quality time to say our goodbyes. As a nurse for over 30 years, I have to say your staff gave amazing care to my mom and to us! Our experience on your unit will forever be a wonderful, peaceful experience that we will cherish forever. Mom was a DNR, and we never felt that she was not important as we pulled the tube and let her pass peacefully. Bri, the charge nurse, the director of the ICU, whose name I cannot remember, a very nice man and very caring, Dr. T, were so kind and so caring. You have great staff. I wish I could remember all of their names. Sometimes, we only hear the negatives, but I really want all of you to know we appreciate you, and we are forever grateful for our experience on your unit. We still talk about our day with our mom and how we were able to let her pass with dignity, calmness, and comfort, which has made her passing a bit more bearable, thanks to the caregiver team.
