She taught me that true leadership is choosing what is right, even when it’s hard, uncomfortable, or unpopular— not what is easy.
When I was a novice, unsure of myself and my abilities, she believed in me before I did. Her guidance, patience, and unwavering support helped shape me into the leader I am today. She leads by example every day— showing compassion, strength, and integrity in the most challenging moments. She taught me that true leadership is choosing what is right, even when it’s hard, uncomfortable, or unpopular— not what is easy. That lesson has stayed with me and continues to guide how I lead. She doesn’t just lead from a distance— she works alongside us to accomplish our goals. Whether she is rounding on patients or taking time to speak with staff and encourage them during difficult moments, she is present, supportive, and genuinely invested in our patients and her team. Instead of focusing on mistakes, she turned them into opportunities for growth, always encouraging me to think, learn, and keep moving forward. Because of her, I found my confidence, my voice, and my purpose as a leader. Her impact on me and so many others is lasting and deeply meaningful. I am forever grateful for her mentorship and proud to nominate her for this well-deserved recognition.
