Chrissy was the primary nurse for the mother of a baby involved in an extensive code white. She provided exceptional emotional support to her patient and their family when we thought this baby was imminently going to die (while actively managing her hemorrhage), and then when the baby was miraculously looking better.

She advocated hard and had the peds provider come back and assess the newborn multiple times until it was undeniable that the baby was doing better. I fully believe that it is because of her that the baby got transferred to a higher level of care. However, before the transfer, she very clearly communicated to the family that they needed to manage their expectations. She did a great job communicating with all parties involved and did so with tact, grace, and compassion.

It was undoubtedly a hard shift, but she did an amazing job!
