Camryn cared for me during one of the most devastating experiences of my life, and the compassion she showed went far beyond what I could have ever expected.

I arrived at the GSL Emergency Room in my second trimester, terrified and experiencing complications. I knew something wasn’t right, and the fear I felt was overwhelming. Camryn greeted me with such kindness and gentleness that it immediately made me feel a sense of comfort. She recognized me as a fellow employee and, with immense respect, asked if I was comfortable having her as my nurse. I told her I was grateful it was her, because in that moment, I needed someone I trusted.

Throughout my visit, Camryn was steady, calm, and incredibly present. She explained everything to me in a way that eased my fear, meeting me exactly where I was emotionally at each step. When we received the heartbreaking news that our daughter had passed, Camryn stood with me. She didn’t push me to speak or make decisions; she simply stayed by my side, offering quiet strength, compassion, and the kind of support that cannot be taught.

Camryn helped me through one of the darkest days of my life. Her presence made an unbearable moment feel just a little more survivable. My family also felt heard, supported, and comforted knowing Camryn was caring for us with such dignity and empathy.

Her compassion, professionalism, and humanity embody everything the DAISY Award represents. I am deeply grateful for the care she provided, and I cannot imagine having gone through this experience without her.
