She takes great pride in making sure nothing is overlooked and that each patient leaves feeling informed, supported, and cared for.
I am nominating Patty for special attention because of the excellent care and attention her patients receive. She is very intuitive and responsive to the needs and comfort of the patient.
I receive infusions every six weeks. By the time my infusion is due, the good effects of the previous infusion are gone. Patty goes out of her way to be sure I am comfortable and have all my needs met. She always makes sure I have water and the call button. She always offers a warm blanket if the room is cold. She has excellent IV skills and is careful to try to get the IV started on the first try. She nearly always does!
I am also thankful for her double-checking everything. Even though I have had this infusion for a long time, she evaluates me carefully and keeps me for 15 minutes as recommended before discharging me. Her diligence and kind attention really make her stand out. I am very happy to nominate her, and I am very grateful for the excellent care.

I would like to nominate Patty Reed for the DAISY Award in recognition of the extraordinary care, compassion, and professionalism she consistently demonstrates.
I witness her interactions with patients on a weekly basis. Although many of the patients she cares for are experiencing pain, injury, or debilitating conditions, they arrive with genuine enthusiasm to see her. She greets each one with warmth and familiarity, often welcoming them like an old friend or member of her own family. It is not uncommon to see patients receive a heartfelt hug or a bright, reassuring smile upon arrival. No matter the circumstances, she consistently brings joy and positivity into every interaction, and I have never observed her in anything less than a genuinely uplifting and compassionate spirit.
Beyond her remarkable bedside manner, she is exceptionally competent in her clinical care. She demonstrates strong attention to detail and a deep commitment to patient safety. As patients complete their visits, I often hear her carefully reviewing follow-up instructions, ensuring they understand their plan of care and any additional services or referrals outside of our district that she has coordinated for them. She takes great pride in making sure nothing is overlooked and that each patient leaves feeling informed, supported, and cared for.
She is also deeply committed to maintaining and expanding her knowledge, particularly in wound care, where she continually stays current with best practices and advancements. This dedication is evident in the high standard of care she provides.
Most importantly, her patients absolutely adore her. She has a unique ability to make even difficult visits feel positive and engaging. She brings a sense of ease and even fun to their experience, which is a rare and invaluable gift in healthcare. She exemplifies what it means to be a compassionate, skilled, and patient-centered nurse.
