Kelly is an amazing nurse who enjoys her job and her ability to make a difference in her patients’ lives. Kelly schedules cath lab procedures and is our structural coordinator. She had been in this role for around a year and is truly changing the way the patients experience outpatient procedures.

She finds joy every day in helping patients find a way around difficult circumstances to help them get to the hospital for their procedure.

Kelly recently had a patient who spoke a rare African dialect. Our translation system could only help on certain days by appointment, only for this dialect. The patient was younger and had made many attempts to get this procedure done with no success. They misunderstood and missed rides and appointments.

Kelly took it upon herself to help this young mother get here safely. She ordered an Uber XL to fit her, her husband, and their many children to get a ride to the hospital and make her appointment. She made arrangements to come in with the family, as last time they got lost and no one could help them.

Kelly stayed with the family and helped them get to each destination, and helped with getting the prearranged interpreters on the phone every step of the way. The young mother was able to have her procedure safely and make it back home with her family with no more complications, thanks to Kelly.

Kelly tries to live out our mission daily, and I just want to recognize her efforts.
