I am the ornery mutt vet. I don’t like people. I heard this voice when I got to my floor. It sounded like a lady drill sergeant. I knew I was in trouble. I prayed she wasn’t my nurse, but you know how that goes.

Dina did have a way of getting her point across, Sarge, and her sidekick, G (student nurse). They made my visit bearable for the first time ever. I really felt like they cared, and it wasn’t just a job. If they were in the military, I’d be honored to have them watching my six.

I never laughed at the VA. This time was very different; that’s a good thing. I know I’ll be thinking of them in rehab. Don’t tell them, or it’ll go to their head. I’ve got more, but I am tired. Please don’t make me regret I wrote this. God Bless.
