Her attention to detail and calm reassurance helped me feel safe, supported, and never alone.
During the scariest diagnosis of my life (pancreatic cancer), Whitney became more than just my nurse. From the very first conversation, she had a remarkable way of easing my fears and helping me focus on hope instead of the worst-case scenario. She balanced warmth and humor with incredible professionalism, making even the hardest days feel manageable.
Whitney was always one step ahead with checking on me frequently, explaining every procedure in a way I could understand, and making sure my questions never went unanswered. She anticipated needs I didn’t even know I had and responded quickly every single time. Her attention to detail and calm reassurance helped me feel safe, supported, and never alone.
She showed genuine compassion not only towards me, but towards my family as well. She took the time to speak with them, answer their concerns, and reassure them when emotions were high. Her kindness, critical thinking, and dedication demonstrated exactly what an extraordinary nurse looks like. She was a truly phenomenal nurse, and her care made an immeasurable difference during one of the darkest times in my life. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the DAISY Award.
