Heather is the kind of nurse who makes everyone around her better.
I am humbled to recognize Heather Baham for her exceptional leadership, compassion, and tireless dedication to surgery patients and the OR team.
As a charge nurse, Heather plays a critical role in patient flow and the functioning of the OR, but she does far more than coordinate cases and manage staff. Heather leads with grace, patience, and empathy to ensure that both patients and her team are truly cared for.
When Heather is caring for patients, she takes her time, treats every patient with extra care and dignity, and makes sure they receive the absolute best care while in our OR.
Her dedication to the team is equally inspiring. Heather checks in with staff throughout the day, offering help, encouragement, and guidance no matter how hectic things get (and things get hectic). Her calm, decisive leadership helps reduce stress and anxiety and creates a positive work culture.
Staff work harder when Heather is in charge because they don't want to let her down. They know how much she genuinely cares for each of them.
Heather will be the first to jump in and the last to leave, often staying past her shift to make sure the team is supported. She is a role model to new and experienced staff, and everyone knows they can depend on Heather for anything.
Heather is the kind of nurse who makes everyone around her better. She personifies the heart of nursing and the spirit of the DAISY award.
Heather is a walking example of the Values of Woman's Hospital. She shows Respect to all, she's an Innovator, always striving for the best outcomes, never giving up, she shows Compassion not only to patients, but to all staff members, and she is Excellent, exceeding the expectations of her co-workers and patients.
Heather truly embodies the Mission of Woman's Hospital by taking the best care of women and infants every day. Heather deserves to be recognized and celebrated for who she is every day.
