2LT Maria Sobiesk was my attending nurse and provided exceptional and compassionate care. She ensured my pain management was controlled with the pain medication list that my surgeon, Dr. W, provided.

She took the time to assess and address every painful episode I had and administered the appropriate medicine and dosage. In doing so, she displayed her superb clinical expertise.

Not only did she address the pain management, but she also provided compassionate care that, to me, went above and beyond her scope of responsibilities. She ensured I had ice water to stay hydrated, icebags to keep my swelling controlled, hot water for my tea, and extra pillows and blankets for elevation.

She was so caring and cordial in every interaction and never let the icebags turn to water!
