She spent almost 2 hours with just me that morning, educating me on how to care for myself with what I had going on.
I had a very serious bladder prolapse the last couple of days of my stay. The nurses I had did not know what to do about it and left it at that. I did not have Chelsea my entire stay until the last morning there - the day I got discharged, and it deeply saddens me because she truly cared about me. Chelsea came in and started her shift by taking care of me, and it was something she was determined to do: take care of me. She made sure a doctor came to see me, something none of the other nurses had offered to do; she worked vigorously on scheduling my surgery consultation for the problem at hand. She spent almost 2 hours with just me that morning, educating me on how to care for myself with what I had going on. She ensured I had everything I needed to go home and be as comfortable as I could be. She made sure my baby had everything he needed and more since we went home on the weekend. She went the extra mile to check on me, that is for sure.

The level of care and concern that Chelsea displayed is something I have never been blessed enough to experience. I have never been cared for by anyone the way Chelsea cared for me. She will forever be remembered by me, and there is nothing I can do to express the full extent of my gratitude for her. Nurses like her are one in a billion, and this hospital is blessed to have her on its team. She is everything and so much more of what a nurse should be. She is genuinely an angel on earth. Deserving of this award is an understatement. I will always remember my last baby-birthing experience thanks to Chelsea, and it will always be my favorite as well.
