My 97-year-old Mom came to 2 West after spending four days in the ICU for pneumonia. So, she had been hooked up to a lot of machines with other things going on.  She was finally taken off oxygen. They had removed 1 liter of fluid from her right lung. We, her three children, were very upset; it took a lot out of us, and we had some disagreements.

When we arrived on 2 West. Hussein was very kind to all of us. He stayed with Mom when she had heart issues one day. He made sure she was going to be alright. He called other nurses and told them what was going on. Hussein showed a lot of kindness, and what a great nurse he was. Mom had a lot of issues going on, and it can be hard to predict. Hussein was able to handle his mom well. I can’t say enough, but he deserves this award.
