I came into the hospital with a cough and found out I had over 2 liters of fluid around my lung and a mediastinal mass. Krysta was my nurse for several days, and from the start to the end of my stay, she was kind-hearted, and all my needs were met. 

She went home to educate herself and learned how to support me. She continuously cheered me on and made sure my pain was at a tolerable level. She always had an uplifting spirit. 

When I got my first biopsy, she was by my side. She was the first person I saw when I came out of my procedure, because she came down to get me and bring me back to my room. 

There was not a time when I was worried or felt unsure of what was going on, because Krysta always updated me. She was very empathetic. 

My appetite was poor, and she made me a whole pan of brownies and cookies. During my stay there were tearful moments that turned into laughing moments.

I started nursing school this year, and Krysta is a perfect example of what nursing is all about. She assured me that I will fight through this and that I am strong. Her support will always allow me to remember her as someone who came along this journey with me.
